Postcards from Nyabinoni - 2

Jean-Damascene with Soraya outside his new church. Anyone fancy climbing the wooden scaffolding to the top of the tower? The brick kiln. Home made, hand made bricks which really glow red in the low rays of the morning or evening sun.
The upper part of Nyabinoni village. Tha mountain road home to Gitarama goes straight up through the village and on to the top of the Ndiza mountains in the background, then all the way along the ridge for about 4o kilometres. One of Rwanda's really amazing rides!

The Nyaborongo river emerges from beneath its veil of clouds. It's nine o'clock in the morning.

End of the training day; half past three. We discovered that the little boy in the background spoke Swahili, and almost no Kinyarwanda. We had to communicate to him entirely through gestures!
